How can we help you?
Sensor Activity Monitoring (SAM) allows users to see the current status (i.e., open, closed, idle, activated, etc.) of
sensors enrolled in the system. This feature does not affect reporting to monitoring stations.
Video recording rules determine when a video device records a clip. Most recording rules can only be created and edited using the Customer Website. The only exception is Video Analytics rules which can be created and edited using either the Customer Website or app.
Create_edit a video recording rule
Recording rules can be viewed, paused, and resumed using the Customer Website or Customer app. For more information about pausing and resuming recording rules, see Pause or resume a video recording rule.
Not without additional hardware. The cameras themselves are not intended to record continuously to Alarm.com. The cameras are meant to use motion-based or event-triggered recording rules, both of which are customizable using the Customer Website.
For more information about creating recording rules, see Configure a Video Analytics rule or Configure a Video Motion Detection (VMD) settings for a video device or Create/edit a video recording rule.
Additional hardware options
- A Stream Video Recorder (SVR) can record video from video devices 24/7. For more information, see Stream Video Recorder (SVR).
- Some cameras support SD cards and can be configured to record to them 24/7. For more information about Onboard Recording, see Onboard Recording with Smart View for video devices
No. RI Home Security sends notifications for alarms and for sensor activity (i.e., disarmed sensor activity).
Unlike most systems, Alarm.com is completely customizable. The customer decides which types of events they want to know about and how Alarm.com should notify them. Alarm.com can send an e-mail, text message, or push notification when, for example, the kids get home from school, the housekeeper arrives, the system is armed or disarmed, or if it appears the kids are throwing a party while the parents are out of town.
For more information about creating or editing notifications, see Create/edit a notification.
Notifications can be created to notify users of different system activities.
You can create as many logins as you desire for your account. There is no limit to how many logins can be created for your account when using the Customer Website.
If you get a new router or change your Wi-Fi credentials (i.e., network name or password), you’ll need to
reconfigure the video device to connect to the new network. There are multiple methods available to restore
communication without the need to delete or factory reset an enrolled video device.
Reconnect a camera to a wireless network if the router, equipment, or Wi-Fi settings change
